MACC Priorities

Regional Emergency Preparedness

MACC is committed to a coordinated, proactive approach to emergency preparedness across the region. With Colorado’s increasing wildfire risk and extreme weather events, counties are investing in aviation-based wildfire suppression, community wildfire protection plans and interagency response teams. From Douglas County’s Helitack program and wildfire mitigation projects to Denver’s citywide disaster training and response planning, our region is building resilience through collaboration, data-driven strategies and community engagement.

Construction Defects

MACC supports efforts to reduce construction defects and promote high-quality, resilient housing across the region. Our counties advocate for balanced policies that protect homeowners while encouraging responsible development. We recognize that construction defect litigation can impact housing affordability and availability, and we are committed to working with builders, local governments and state legislators to foster safe, durable and accessible housing options for all residents.

Cold Weather Coordination

MACC is committed to protecting vulnerable residents during Colorado’s harsh winter months. Through coordinated efforts across our counties, we support emergency shelter access, warming centers and outreach services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Partner initiatives like the new Aurora Regional Navigation Campus in Arapahoe County exemplify our region’s commitment to integrated shelter, services and transitional housing. Residents can also access real-time cold weather resources and shelter information by calling 2-1-1 or visiting 2-1-1 Colorado.
